any trip to perhentian is a good trip
this is a place where i don't mind visiting again and again and again.. 
so this time i went with ofis frenz
haa..memang lawa kaaaaaan..
what a fabulous time we had!
4d/3n, kali ni di pengkalan raja
secluded beach, very clean and clear as always
but i never liked the jetty-what an eyesore
pagi mandi petang mandi
dan juga mencandat sotong (squid jigging)
hey, i managed to catch a couple!
some frenz went fishing-brought back a boxful!
masa balik singgah di kuala terengganu
stopped at pasar payang dan kedai keropok lekor
shop! shop! shop!
we put our catch in a styrofoam box in the car
on the way home it leaked!
baunya..omigod..unbelievable!! 
but i can do this all over again
there's gonna be another perhentian entry..

visit to tasik kenyir 2008

sampai jugak ke tasik kenyir..
my work brought me to kenyir resort
memang kat ceruk ulu
stesen minyak terdekat pun lebih 30km jauhnya
buat habis minyak je..
however, the chalets are very nice
airy with big bathrooms (no tub though)
semi-d design with connecting door for sharing
satu malam rm280, kalau group rm230
sesuai untuk keluarga, pasangan dan yang keseorangan 
spa is not bad either
a note, the lobby/spa/activity/parking center are located in separate buildings
but shuttle service (buggies) is provided throughout
quite cute actually..
but the place can be spooky at nite,
especially masa tunggu shuttle kat tepi jalan 
overall, because of its location
this place is most suitable for people who want to get away
max dua malam dah cukup kot..
kecuali kaki pancing!

get TRAPped!

on the way back to kl, i stopped at a TRAP
Taman Rekreasi Air Panas
from the north-south hiway, exit at sungkai
turn left after paying the toll
drive straight and turn left into the felda (follow the signboards)
from this turn, the distance is about 7km
entry is rm10
there are many pools here
the biggest is a mountain spring pool
ooooOOoooOoOoohhhh...sejuk dan segar.. 
there's also a huge warm water pool
and other smaller pools untuk merendam kaki/reflexology
ada jugak tempat merebus telur (telur kena beli kat situ)
dan tempat massage etc
sesuai untuk kids, adults, sick people..
ample parking available
tempat tinggal pun ada (tak takut ke..)
meanwhile back at home,
sis got back from tokyo
and got me my dalloyau macarons!
crispy meringue on the outside
and soft vanilla filling inside
must try!
yum! yum! yum!

sabah visit 2008
|
|
had another trip to the land below the wind
as usual, my favorite things to do are
menala ikan bakar behind the filipino market;
taking endless pix of gunung kinabalu (sebab tak kuasa nak panjat);
and buying buah salak
tapi kali ini sempat ke taman negara kinabalu
at the foot of the gunung
not much to see though, but can take pix at pondok timpohon,
the first stop up to the peak
dan juga
telah pergi ke pulau manukan dan sapi!!
dint know they were very close to kk
and can actually see the city from the islands..cool kan
manukan was very beautiful, clean white beach clear waters and all
dont know about underwater life, whether worth snorkelling/diving or not
i say it is a must go
sapi pulak..i read this was the smallest/untouched island
supposedly paling menenangkan gitu..
but the minute we got there, penuh dengan japanese tourists! 
apparently a HUGE tour group dropped by,
siap set up meja makan sampai penuh pantai
and the beach was very small
tak menenangkan pon!
anyway, there are many trips to the islands in a day
provided by Beach Bums Borneo
can hop on from most of the hotels in town
affordably priced dan dia turunkan sampai ke jetty
which is in tanjung aru and rite next to shangri-la
there is a lovely walkway from the hotel to the jetty
a good idea is to stop at the spa after going to the islands
hmm..maybe next time..

ada jugak swimming pool dan club house
families pun datang ke sini
